Well said. Ditto Norfolk and off the gas mains - so far our lot haven't banned it but there are mutterings (which seem to confuse my ex-Estate cottage with Chelsea townhouses)

When electric goes (which it seems to do with increased frequency) we only have the wood burner...plus a lifetime's supply of wood we're still in the process of sawing up, stacking &drying courtesy of Storm Arwen. No brainer really.

We on,y survived in our last house because of the multi-fuel stove. We couldn’t afford the cost of the storage heaters and heat source was not an option in the old stone cottage - and still would have been cold even if it was!

Just using my last few pieces of turf in Donegal but we have a supply of wood so can have the essential heart of the house fire . The stove is warm in the morning and restarts with a little jiggle with a poker and she’s off again ! Sláinte

Just got a leaflet through the door from a renewable energy company today explaining new proposals to create a new wind turbine farm at Crosbie on the outskirts in hills and moors between West Kilbride ,Fairlie Dalry in an area already overwhelmed by wind turbines. Not exactly environmentally friendly cutting down all those trees to inform us of their intentions. I don’t know if it’s printed on recycled material but I think there’s too many now in this part of North Ayrshire and I think it’s going to ruin the view . I don’t mind small wind farms but it’s now getting like too many too many cooks spoil the broth . I don’t particularly like the way the SNP & Greens are behaving in parliament at this present time with this ridiculous Hate Speech Crime Bill that we can’t say what we think in our own homes and now trying to tell us how we can or cannot use to heat our homes . I think we are now living in a dictatorship with those in power at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh . They are passing laws that are not well thought out . It was ok to put up new smoke alarms in our homes but now they are just taking a wee step too much with the log burners and the thought control. I can’t wait those two years to go by quick enough so there’s a Scottish Parliamentary Election to kick the SNP & Greens out. The quicker we do that even by tactical voting Labour Conservatives & Lib Dem’s the better. I honestly think the Scottish Conservatives have more credibility than the SNP/Greens.
