Awful for you both. Hope situation improves quickly. I had it end of last year, due to similar health problems I was sent to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. Horrible experience. I was shocked at how lax they could be and the other patients moaning sense of entitlement was embarrassing.
After reading your post I'm going back to wearing a mask.

I always look forward to your posts Tom. Jeez it’s been rough for you both. I’ve had it twice, both very different but both hellish. Pericarditis and poor taste linger (some might say I’ve always had poor taste). As a celebrant it’s always my first thought when I take a booking; please don’t let me catch covid. So far like you I’ve only had to pull out of one, but I felt so bloody guilty.
My husband is currently positive so I’m living in fear. I had no idea having omicron doesn’t provide immunity. I had it at Easter and have been relying on immunity to protect me from hubby, and his bout. My last booster was December but due for next on Monday so I’ll be skipping in to that!
Anyway, I hope you go from strength to strength Tom and Susan does too.
Oh and this was still an entertaining read despite the subject … sorry not sorry….
Oh dear, you've had it both barrels, haven't you, Tom. I do hope you get better soon. I'm afraid it's no consolation for you when I say so far I've been covid free, but that the flu jab got me, put me off my feet and I'm still recovering. Up and on, it's the only way to go. You'll get there.
Glad to hear you’re feeling even just a wee bit better. And yes your description matches my friend’s experience, who is also triple vaccinated…and has avoided up to now! I think its a bit like the “eat out to help out” time where we went from isolation and body swerving anyone we met, to throwing caution to the wind as we got food with a big discount.! I was one of the few wearing a mask in the supermarket yesterday, haven’t had any of the variants..yet.. but will keep wearing my mask no matter how many weird looks I get. Get well soon, both of you. Ev
